May 4

The House of Justice understands your feelings about the Fast and that you feel somewhat deprived from fully participating in its effects given that you work during the night and sleep during the day; however, it is dearly prescribed in the Most Holy Book that fasting is to be observed from sunrise to sunset and this law cannot be altered to suit the requirements of those who work such hours. Moreover, as there is no prohibition against sleeping during any portion of the daily fasting period, you should not feel unduly concerned. By reading the special prayers for fasting, immersing yourself in the Word of Cod and meditating profoundly on the significance of this special time, you will no doubt draw ever nearer to the Blessed Beauty, thereby receiving the intended benefit of this special period.
